Why Your Client Needs A Pool Compliance Certificate
1. Landlords: Must provide a pool compliance certificate to tenants, property managers, and the council every two years.
2. Vendors: Need to attach a current Compliance or Non-Compliance Certificate to the sales contract when selling a property with a pool.
3. New Pool or Spa Construction: Requires a Certificate of Compliance to obtain an Occupation Certificate from the council or private certifier.
4. Renovations: A Compliance Certificate must be issued to the council after making changes to pool fences or gates.
5. Non-Compliant Properties: Buyers have 90 days to rectify any non-compliance and issue a Compliance Certificate to the council.
6. Unit Complex Stakeholders: Strata managers must obtain and submit an up-to-date pool Compliance Certificate to the council every two years.
7. Daycare Centres: Must have a Pool Compliance Certificate on-site at all times and provide it to the council biennially.
8. Council Mandates: You have the option to engage either the council’s officer or a private entity like The Property Inspectors for certification.
